“Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard has an understated nose of cranberries, pomegranate and rhubarb with touches of dried herbs, anise and black soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has lovely perfumed fruit and is a lot showier than the nose initially suggests, with velvety tannins and great persistence.”

2016 WALT Rosella’s Vineyard Pinot Noir is dynamic, elegant and expressive with flavors of ripe plum, cherry and structured velvety tannins.

Tasting Notes

Rosella's Vineyard features layered aromatics - bright floral, violet pastile, baking spice, and delicate white strawberry. The elegant yet focused palate opens with fresh red fruit flavors followed by underlying notes of earth and subtle sage. Texturally this wine is delicate and subtly round with a juicy finish that is laced with a well balanced acidity.

The 2016 harvest was early, with slightly lower than normal yield, but exceptional fruit quality. After many years of drought, we experienced winter rains that helped alleviate the dry conditions that plagued us for the last four years. The entire ripening season enjoyed cooler than average days and nights. July and August were particularly temperate allowing for longer hang times, which ripened the grapes uniformly.
