"Ellie's" is a tribute to Craig's mother; and artist and teacher; who enlisted in World War II the very day the U.S. Navy announced it would accept women. Ellie's love for her country, her family, and art defined her life and her dedication and creativity inspired Craig's lifelong interest in art collecting. The label displays one of Ellie's pencil drawings; an owl watching over a family vineyard encapsulates Craig and Kathryn's love for Ellie and passion for wine.

The Wine:
Aromatically effusive with black jammy fruit, dusty plum reduction and Herbes de Provence; the palate blooms markedly round and soft with saturating black fruit flavors, violets, cocoa powder and grilled herbs. Enticing now, the wine will gain complexity and strength over the next decade.
