Stewardship
Here at HALL, we strive to ensure the health of our land as well as that of the greater Napa Valley ecosystem. Our nearly 500 planted acres of vines are organically farmed and we are Certified Organic.

HALL Vineyard Director, Don Munk and his team uses only natural products for weed and pest control and carefully tends to the natural health and biodiversity of the soils. We also manage the cover crops that have been planted in all of our vineyards, work to minimize erosion and sedimentation to local waterways, and continue fish-friendly farming practices.

"Create a healthy, balanced scenario for the vine so that it can express itself as it should." - Don Munk, HALL Director of Vineyard Operations

In addition, we incorporate 50% bio-diesel in our farming operations to reduce carbon emissions. We strongly believe that by encouraging a healthy ecosystem and dedicating the utmost care to our vineyards and farming practices, we will make better wine.

Small-Vine Viticulture
We focus on classic Bordeaux varietals, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, and we  are   devoted to employing organic Small-Vine viticulture techniques in order to produce the finest grapes possible. Small-Vine viticulture is a time-honored farming technique that  sacrifices quantity for quality. This me ans that our vines are planted more densely (2,000 - 2,400 vines/acre) than most other vineyards in Napa. Therefore, each vine produces less fruit, resulting in much more intense flavor development and higher quality wines.
