Our 2008 Rosé was vinified using 100% Syrah grapes from our dry-farmed Napa River Ranch – a cool valley-floor region moderated by the Napa River and Dry Creek. After the clusters were de-stemmed and the berries were gently burst, we allowed just enough contact of the skins with the juice to yield a striking fuchsia hue and luscious fruit flavors. We fermented the juice in both neutral French oak and stainless drums, resulting in a harmonious, balanced bouquet of exotic floral, ripe strawberry and mashed cherry. Fresh flavors of red plum, tart cherry and violet are lifted by a bright and focused finish. This wine is a staff favorite as it serves as a welcome aperitif or a versatile match with a variety of foods, from picnic fare to Asian cuisine.
