Pairing Sauvignon Blanc with your summer cuisine...
Be adventurous with the freshest seafood and seasonal ingredients in your area. Just consider the citrus-y crispness of Sauvignon Blanc and how it might complement the flavors in your recipe. Generally, Sauvignon Blanc is a very versatile wine that plays well with a variety of foods. Just don’t match it with vinegar-based dishes or anything too acidic overall. Most importantly, any well-balanced dish can generally pair with any well-balanced wine. Try not to overpower your wine with overly-seasoned dishes and try not to overpower your delicate dishes with overly flavorful wines. [Hint: Sauvignon Blanc goes well with the preparation process too. You can even substitute two parts Sauvignon Blanc for one part lemon juice in marinades or cream sauces.]
Pairing Merlot with your summer cuisine...
HALL Napa Valley Merlot is built to be enjoyed while it is young. With flavors of cassis, black cherry, plum, and chocolate and an underpinning of leather and spice, HALL Napa Valley Merlot will pair nicely with grilled steak fish like tuna, swordfish or salmon. Consider an olive and tomato relish or mushroom sauce to finish the dish and further coax the complex flavors of the wine.
