2013 HALL Bergfeld St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon
Critic Review
"This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the Hall's estate 14 acre vineyard, which is planted to Cabernet and Merlot. As this wine begins to open it releases aromatics of black cherries, pipe tobacco, tar, green olive and eucalyptus. On the palate there are delicious flavors of black cherry, anise, crème de cassis, wild blackberry pie and mocha with graphite. The silky mouthfeel and richness contributes this wonderful textural experience, as the wine captures the ripe, concentrated flavors from this great vintage in Napa Valley. The range of aromatics, flavors and textural experience is exquisite."

Our “Bergfeld” St. Helena vineyard is 100% estate fruit, planted in light gravelly alluvial soils strewn across an ancient creek bed. The well-drained soils and warm growing conditions produce wines of immense power. The unique nature of this site ensures low vine vigor, small crops and intensely concentrated berries with balanced acidity.

Vintage Notes | Temperatures were moderate and slightly cooler in 2013, providing the opportunity to harvest according to our winemaker’s preference and not due to weather conditions. This vintage’s wines are extremely concentrated in their textural richness. They showcase massive personalities and should be extremely long lived. |
