2015 Rainin Vineyard Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

95-97+ Points (Barrel) - Jeb Dunnuck
99 Points - Owen Bargreen, IWR

The Rainin Vineyard, founded in 1998 by the Rainin family, is a bucolic, eight acre site located on the rugged volcanic slopes of Diamond Mountain. The vines are nestled amongst majestic pine forests and redwood groves. The family's passion for the vineyard is reflected in their philosophy, "If it's not fun, we're not doing it." We hope you share their joie de vivre as you enjoy this singular expression of Rainin Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

Appellation: Diamond Mountain District
Varietals: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Barrel Aging: 24 Months in 100% New French Oak
Winemaker: Steve Leveque

"The ‘Rainin’ is a barrel select from this vineyard. The nose is scintillating, currently displaying Turkish coffee, creme de cassis, dusty terroir, red bell pepper and red cherry compote. The insanely good mouthfeel coats the mid-palate as the entry is insanely decadent. The texture to this wine is downright ethereal. Creme de cassis, red bell pepper, creme de cassis, sour black cherry compote, mocha and Asian spice with tea leaf flavors all impress. The seamless quality of this wine is simply amazing. This is near perfection in the bottle." -- Owen Bargreen

"Tasted out of barrel and made from 100% Cabernet, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Rainin Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon carries an inky, saturated color to go with a huge, sweet nose of black cherries, blueberries, graphite, hints of scorched earth and leafy herbs. Opulent, incredibly hedonistic, voluptuous and borderline over the top, this beauty stays pure, elegant and lively on the palate, with ample structure and length. It's a tour de force from Napa that's going to keep for three decades." -- Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Critic
