92-95 Points (barrel) - Vinous Media

Sacrashe Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from its namesake vineyard, home to HALL’s first 100 point wine. Sacrashe vineyard, hidden atop the eastern ridge of the Vaca mountain range in Rutherford, is noteworthy for its extremely limiting volcanic tuff soils and gentle sloping aspects. This vineyard yields fruit that is rich, dense, earthy and opulent, possessing a purity of focus and pronounced power. The wine exudes dark and pure, voluptuous fruit.

Appellation: Napa Valley
Varietals: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Barrel Aging: 24 Months in 100% New French Oak
Winemaker: Steve Leveque

"A barrel sample, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Sacrashe Vineyard is deep purple-black and a little reduced on the nose at this nascent stage, giving way to notes of chocolate-covered cherries, espresso, tar and crème de cassis plus hints of kirsch and mossy bark. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and tightly wound with bags of earth-laced crunchy black fruit and a savory finish." -- Lisa Perotti-Brown

"Intense and well-centered on vivid ripe currant, blackberry and cherry flavors, shaded by cedar notes and framed by firm, chewy tannins. Leaves you with a rustic impression and a solid core of fruit." -- Antonio Galloni
