2016 HALL Terra Secca Cabernet Sauvignon
Terra Secca Cabernet Sauvignon presents powerful aromatics of concentrated dark fruit, freshly turned earth, black tea, warm baking spice, and beautifully integrated oak. Medium ruby in color, this wine has spice and fruit flavors that carry through to the palate for a rich, unctuous, and balanced effect. The finish is long, dense, and nuanced with flavors of dark berry and crushed rock with persistent tannin structure.
Inspired by our vineyard sources along the Soda Canyon corridor, this blend is crafted from vineyards with pronounced influences from the rocky, dry soils and hillside aspects. This translates into highly structured and dense wines. Due to low vigor growing conditions, the vines endure stress which manifests in the wine and is evidenced in the firm tannin and lengthy finish.

The 2016 vintage marked the end of the drought years, although precipitation levels were still moderate to low. Near-perfect growing conditions continued throughout the summer with a few heat spikes that the valley is known for. Yields were a bit lower than normal, but the quality of the harvest was high. The resulting wine is rich and lush, with supple tannins and opulent, elegant finishes. Wines from 2016 are a fifth consecutive vintage of stellar Napa Valley wines.
