Celebrate the Everyday

One of the beautiful, magical things about wine is that its mere uncorking can be reason enough to celebrate. Curling up in a favorite chair and reading a good book or listening to a favorite album while slowly sipping a glass of wine in quietude can be both relaxing and luxurious.

We also find that gatherings can often happen spontaneously when a bottle of wine is opened. Sitting in the arbor at HALL St. Helena, we might be enjoying a little wine at the end of a work day and, before you know it, chairs are pulled up, glasses are added, and friends and colleagues are joining us. We live in a time when so much happens quickly and virtually, life becomes over-scheduled. Wine remedies that; it's the here and now, beckoning us to slow down and savor, gather and interact face to face. What a wonderful answer to the rush and distraction of the modern world.

Just for fun - here are some of our team's everyday wine suggestions. We invite you to share yours on our Facebook page at Facebook.com/hallwines

During the spring and summer, my husband and I invite friends over and we fire up our wood oven.  We’ll make homemade pizzas, breads, warmed olives, roasts – anything we can think of that would fit in the wood oven.  We consider our outdoor space as an extension of our living space and love having friends and family over to share.  We’ve invited people over for our annual winter party which includes a whole roast pig, pizza and good wine.

Hall and Walt is always part of the menu and we love sharing with the people we care about.

~I like to bring a nice screw-cap SB to Golden Gate park (like for an event... like the Hardly Strictly Blue Grass, etc.) drink it right out of the bottle and pass it around with friends while dancing to the JAM!

~With my husband's culinary expertise we celebrate with the marriage of food and wine. We have a large garden and do a lot of from scratch cooking. We love to try new recipes with fresh ingredients and pick wine to pair as perfectly as possible.

We also love love love camping and enjoying Darwin and Kathryn Hall several times over the summer with a delicious campfire dinner. It pretty much does not get any better for us than camping by the ocean and eating great food paired with incredible wine.

~After every surf session I end it with a glass (or two) of Sauvignon Blanc…  Evenings are made for Hall red wines… any red varietal. -Steve M. Staff Accountant

~I love to celebrate with big bottles such as magnums or 3 liters. They provide great talking points amongst a group. Kendra W. Hospitality and Events Manager

~On Tuesday nights during the summer months, we love to pick up a bottle of WALT at the tasting room and walk over to the Farmer’s Market on the Plaza in Sonoma.    Locals and visitors gather and picnic on the lawn, listen to music and browse the food and produce stalls.  You’re allowed to have your own wine, so it’s the perfect way to enjoy a summer day in Sonoma! Ed C. Senior Vice President

~Lately, we've been pairing Sunday nights with Cabernet Sauvignon, BBQ and Zombies (Walking Dead!). -Joe R. Marketing Services Manager
