Wine Cave Experiences
HALL Family Wines began when Craig & Kathryn Hall acquired the St. Helena property in 2003 and opened later that year. Over the years, WALT and BACA entered the family and under the artisan-ship of winemaker Megan Gunderson, HALL Wines continue to set new heights in Napa Valley winemaking.

One Dedicated Family, Three Incredible Brands
HALL Wines produces artful Cabernet Sauvignon sourced in the varietal's premiere growing region - Napa Valley, CA. Founded as Kathryn HALL Vineyards in 1996 and rebranded to HALL in 2002, each wine is crafted at HALL St. Helena and HALL Rutherford wineries. Each of HALL's ten estate vineyards are sustainably farmed and Certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance. In addition, five are farmed organically by and certified by the California Certified Organic Farming (CCOF). The signature wine, Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon is released each year in September. In addition to cabernet sauvignon, HALL produces Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot from Napa Valley.
WALT Wines is a passion for producing wines of a place – Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Pacific Coast’s most distinctive vineyard sites. Spanning over 1,000 miles, the WALT portfolio of vineyards includes the Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley, Los Carneros, Sta. Rita Hills, Santa Lucis Highlands, and Willamette Valley appellations. Each of its estate vineyards are Certified Sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.
BACA Wines produces California Zinfandel sources from the state’s most notable vineyards located in Russian River Valley, Rockpile, Howell Mountain, and Paso Robles. The BACA portfolio is focused on complex, high quality Zinfandel, named in a fun and playful manner. Each wine’s story showcases how our childhood games play a part in the wine crafter by BACA.
Luxury Born of Craftsmanship
Our winemakers see making wine through the lens of the vineyard, and believe excellent wines come from doing everything right at every stage of the process. Careful site selection, thoughtful viticulture, and reacting to the vintage’s best traits rather than requiring the vintage to confirm to formulaic standards. For us, wine is an immersive experience, it captures the story of the land told through the voices of our winemakers.
Our meticulous methodology includes:
- Night harvesting and hand sorting every berry
- Native yeast fermentation
- Barrel aging on lees to create more texture, richness and complexity
- Weekly batonnage and topping during the decidedly long malolactic fermentation
- Wines are bottles without fining agents or filtration
- Our wine is made with the least intervention, utilizing the best practices available
