We CARE

Community

We aim to make a positive impact on our local community ranging through community fundraising to hands-on volunteerism. We are proud to work with non-profit and local community organizations, and share a vision for a just and sustainable world. We aspire to create a unique business environment that combines financial success with social responsibility. We believe that good business starts with good people doing good as this drives the fundamentals of success. We actively participate in philanthropic efforts within Sonoma, Mendocino, Sta Rita Hills and the greater Bay Area that create opportunities for the local community. We believe that supporting and investing in local organizations is the right thing to do.

Our community was challenged by the 2017 wildfires that swept through Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and Lake Counties which are the worst California has experienced in modern history. More than 200,000 acres were burned and 5,700 homes, businesses and wineries were lost and 42 people lost their lives. While several of our employees sustained significant property damage, we’re very thankful that there were no injuries to anyone in our HALL and WALT winery family. Amidst the destruction, there were some very bright spots and the way the community banded together was nothing short of astounding.

Firefighters and first responders came from all across the country and beyond to help. The Halls helped raise more than $1,000,000 to contribute to the fire relief effort by way of a dollar for dollar matching, donating tasting fees for the month of October to charity, and opening up SENZA to those displaced by the fires.

Additionally, we host a number of community-related events each year, including the annual Cabernet Cookoff. Known as Napa Valley’s biggest food and wine competition, the event features renowned chefs who are all competing for a charity of their choice by creating small bites that pair with HALL Cabernet. Since its inception, the Cabernet Cookoff has raised over $500,000 in funds for Napa Valley charities. Additionally, we continue to support a number of community organizations that directly impact education, healthcare, wellness, animals, environment, and the arts including:
