2022 Maui Retreat Highlights

Vintner Kathryn Hall and the HALL Family Wines team hosted a one-of-a-kind retreat for wine club members, Partners, and their guests. Three nights of fabulous wine and unforgettable memories in beautiful Maui.

This island retreat included a private cultural ceremony, a spectacular private dinner under the stars in Makena, as well as a tasting and reception evening at Craig and Kathryn’s waterfront home in Makena. Intertwined with our evening events were wine education tastings, led by President Mike Reynolds, snorkeling, and water activities.

Join vintner Kathryn Hall with the HALL Family Wines team for three nights of fabulous wine and unforgettable memories in beautiful Maui. This one-of-a-kind trip is only open to wine club members, Partners, and their guests.

This island retreat will include a private cultural ceremony, a spectacular private dinner under the stars in Makena, as well as a tasting and reception evening at Craig and Kathryn’s waterfront home in Makena. Intertwined with our evening events are wine education tastings, led by President Mike Reynolds, snorkeling, and water activities.

Guests are responsible for their own air travel and lodging. As an option, we're offering a special discount for Hotel Wailea, Travel and Leisure's #1 Hawaiian resort last year. Mention that you are attending our Member Retreat when booking to receive the discount.

The cruise has two snorkeling locations, placed in the heart of the day when the Maui sun lights up the colors of the fish and coral below and you can take in the full spectrum of the beauty of Molokini’s incredible reef. Then snorkel along the Makena Coast to swim with the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle.*
The waters surrounding Maui are very clear, which means that you can see fish up to hundreds of feet away.

Highlights from our 2022 Maui Retreat:

Night #1

Welcomed at Craig and Kathryn’s beautiful and artful home in Maui, right off a semi-private beach
Enjoyed Kathryn’s famous Mai-tais, sunset on the beach, and heavy pupus (Hawaiian for appetizers)
Tasted verticals of Clos Pepe Pinot Noir and Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon, served from magnums.

Day #2

Private snorkel cruise on our chartered catamaran to take this special trip to Molokini Island. From seeing Molokini's pristine reef, fish, and spotting the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, we enjoyed a gourmet lunch and a full-service bar to end the cruise
The evening consisted of an in-depth wine tasting which included topics of how location affects wine, winemaking philosophy, in addition to tasting our wines from different vineyard locations.
We ended the day with a private luau, traditional cuisine, tasted amazing library wines and enjoyed authentic local entertainment.

Day #3

President Mike Reynolds led guests through a tasting of some of the most prized and limited production library wines from the Sacrashe and Rainin Vineyards.
The tasting was followed by lunch prepared by the famed Andaz Maui Hotel, where we paired gourmet dishes with some of our finest wines, including a sneak-peak at our newest Platinum offering, the Beller Vineyard.
Farewell All-White Dinner & Party!

Did we mention the 18-holes of golf at the private championship Makena golf course? As this was an optional activity, many of our members enjoyed golfing with views of 4 Hawaiian Islands, and five-star amenities.

Join vintners Kathryn and Craig Hall with the HALL Family Wines team November 15-17, 2022 for fabulous wine and unforgettable memories in beautiful Maui. This one-of-a-kind trip is open to wine club members only.

On the first night, we’ll welcome you at Craig and Kathryn’s beautiful and artful home in Maui, right off a semi-private beach. After enjoying one of Kathryn’s famous Mai-tais, we will walk a few steps down to the ocean where you will experience a torch-lit sunset on the beach and heavy pupus (Hawaiian for appetizers.) Meet new friends who share a love of our wines in this spectacular location. To top the evening off, you will enjoy verticals of Clos Pepe Pinot Noir and Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon, served from magnums.

On day two, enjoy a private snorkel cruise on our chartered catamaran to take this special trip to Molokini Island. There you will see Molokini's pristine reef and incredible diversity of fish. Snorkeling at Maui’s most popular site for spotting the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle will perhaps be one of the highlights of your trip. The catamaran will make at least two stops, so you can experience snorkeling in different locations and compare your sightings with your friends. Onboard, enjoy a gourmet lunch and a full-service bar.

Early that evening, we will lead you through a special wine tasting where we take an in depth look at how location really affects wine. We will be tasting single vineyard wines from prestigious sites around California. These wines will all be similar in their winemaking style, and varietal, but the main difference will be the location of the vineyard. Learn how the weather, soil and surroundings affect the way the wine tastes. This will be an educational event where you get exclusive access to our winemaking philosophy and will leave with an appreciation for the impact of terrior in wine.

To finish the day, you’ll join us for dancing, traditional cuisine, amazing library wines and authentic local entertainment. We have arranged for a very special private luau on the oceanfront lanai in front of the Andaz Hotel. Even if you’ve been to a luau before, you won’t want to miss this one as we have pulled out all the stops. We will watch the magical sun go down and enjoy artisan cocktails and pupus. You will be entertained by Hawaiian dancers and performers, and your senses will be delighted with an incredible Hawaiian feast with more food than you will know what to do with. In addition, we will are featuring some incredible library wines at this event.

On day three, President Mike Reynolds will lead you through a tasting of some of the most prized and limited production library wines from the Sacrashe and Rainin Vineyards. You will enjoy wines from some of our best vintages of all-time, and learn about the nuances from year to year, specifically how that year’s harvest impacted that vintage. You won’t want to miss these incredible wines. The tasting will be followed by lunch prepared by the famed Andaz Maui Hotel, and enjoy gourmet dishes paired with some of our finest wines, including a sneak-peak at our newest Platinum offering, the Beller Vineyard.

For our farewell event, wear all-white clothing as you join us for a magical evening under the stars at Makena Golf Club's 16th fairway, overlooking Makena’s black sand beach. Enjoy an elegant dinner with some of our most sought-after library wines, live music and dancing. Kick up your heels as we dance the night away to music from a Maui-based talented party band. This will be an unforgettable evening, where you can spend time with old and new friends.

We will be offering an optional 18-holes of golf at the private championship Makena golf course, with views of 4 Hawaiian islands, and five-star amenities. After registering for the Maui Retreat, there will be an opportunity for guests to sign up for a tee time for Wednesday or Thursday morning.

We will be offering a block of rooms at the Maui Andaz Hotel. Transportation to and from the Andaz will be provided for all official events. Guests to provide their own transportation to & from the airport and for optional golf. Other nearby hotel options are Grand Wailea Maui, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, and The Westin Maui Resort & Spa.

Description: This is the top snorkeling destination for visitors to Maui, with the clearest water in Hawaii and over 250 species of fish. Experiencing Molokini’s pristine reef and marine life without the crowds is Kai Kanani’s privilege due to its exclusive South Maui location, timing their 65-foot luxury catamaran’s tours to maximize exclusivity .
The cruise has two snorkeling locations, placed in the heart of the day when the Maui sun lights up the colors of the fish and coral below and you can take in the full spectrum of the beauty of Molokini’s incredible reef. Then snorkel along the Makena Coast to swim with the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle.*
The waters surrounding Maui are very clear, which means that you can see fish up to hundreds of feet away.
